This year, the seventh edition of the Litokol trophy, the junior cycling race valid for the regional championship, was held on Sunday 14 June. The competition was organised by Ciclistica 2000 Litokol, sponsored by the province of Reggio Emilia, the Emilia Romagna Regional Administration, the Unione bassa reggiana and the municipalities of the Val d’Enza. The 122.4 km route started from Luzzara, heading towards Montecavolo, where 86 athletes entered by 11 companies run the 13.5 km circuit twice with two Mountains classifications in Calinzano, and then took the same route back, arriving in Luzzara.
The race, which took place at an average speed of 39.355km/h, had the following order of arrival:
1st place ORLANDI MASSIMO (S.S. SANCARLESE PHONIX BORGHI BIKE)
2nd place BENEDETTI MATTIA (CALDERARA STM RIDUTTORI ) with 1'40"
3rd place LODI LEONARDO (S.S. SANCARLESE PHONIX BORGHI BIKE)
