The creation of a new hospital wing for CORE - Centro Oncoematologico Reggio Emilia (Reggio Emilia Blood Cancer Centre) is just a part of the wider and complex structural and technological upgrade programme of the Arcispedale Santa Maria Nuova Hospital Company in Reggio Emilia (ASMN).
The project will allow for all highly specialised oncology research and assistance units to be situated in a single building. The bringing together of these functions is needed to better support the considerable developments that this activity has seen over the last few years. The structure has 5 floors and covers a surface area of over 15,000 m2, and will be completed by the end of 2015.
The floors are made from porcelain stoneware tiles from Casalgrande Padana, laid with Litoflex K80 by Litokol, the improved cement adhesive and long open to Class C2E, for the laying of ceramic tiles both indoors and out, on floors and walls.
For the grout filling Litochrom 3-15 by Litokol was used, the high performance cement sealant for grouting spaces from 3 to 15 mm wide.
